Island Hotel Cedar Key
The Island Hotel is a piece of history you can walk right into. Lift the antiquated front door latch, cross the threshold and you are surrounded by original floors, artwork and supposed previous owners in the form of ghosts. Built around 1860 the hotel offers a second floor perch perfect for watching incoming storms. Hot breakfast is included and there's also dinner dining and The Neptune Lounge, a popular hang out for locals. Big thanks to proprietor Andy who so generously taught us how to clean scallops. He also makes a most delicious french toast.
