Sea Turtle Research at Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge
90% of sea turtles nesting in North America takes place in Florida, and 1/3 of all nesting for loggerheads happens along a 20 or so mile stretch of beach called The Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge. It's considered the most concentrated nesting spot for the loggerheads in the world. This turtle was captured by researchers, weighed and measured before being released back into the wild.
