Manatee, Crystal River, Florida
A snorkeler approaches a manatees at Three Sisters Spring in the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is one of the only places where people are allowed to interact with manatees, but there are major concerns that this may be harmful to the mammals which seek shelter in the constant 72 degree spring waters during winter months. This underwater photograph was taken in the presence of Fish & Wildlife monitors, please do not attempt to approach any wild animal.
